Alice Lee Yeager, 82, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 22, 2026, in Louisville, Kentucky. Born on June 23, 1943, in Louisville, Kentucky, Alice was the beloved daughter of Benjamin and Pauline Sherrard.
Alice was a loving sister, aunt, great-aunt, stepmother, and cherished friend to many. She never met a stranger and was truly the life of the party wherever she went. From a very young age, Alice had a gift for bringing people together, and she carried that passion throughout her life by hosting countless celebrations for family and friends, especially during the holidays she loved so dearly.
She found great joy in traveling with her friends, making treasured memories on trips to Hawaii, Las Vegas, and Savannah. One of her favorite traditions was her girls’ trips to Brown County, a tradition that lasted for more than 20 years and created lifelong memories and friendships.
Alice was known for being particular and opinionated, qualities that those closest to her came to love and appreciate. Beneath that strong personality was a woman with a huge heart who genuinely loved celebrating life and creating joy for others. Whether planning a gathering, decorating for a holiday, or simply enjoying time with loved ones, Alice made every moment feel special.
In her quieter moments, Alice enjoyed relaxing with her favorite game shows, Hallmark movies, and beloved soap operas, including The Young and the Restless, General Hospital, and The Bold and the Beautiful.
Alice will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Her warmth, laughter, and unwavering love for family and friends will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched.
Alice is preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Blakeman and Rita Nash; and her parents, Benjamin Franklin Sherrard and Pauline Harris Stamps Sherrard.
Left to cherish her memory, Alice is survived by her siblings, Sue Smith and Paul Sherrard (Donna); stepchildren, Todd Yeager and Carla Moats; brother-in-law, Gary Nash; nephew, Wayne Smith; nieces, Missy McGrath, Tammy Goodlett, Lori Buechele, Stephanie Morgan, Amy Thorpe, Stacey Blakeman, Brandy Combs, and Amber Sherrard; and countless great-nieces/nephews.
A funeral service for Ms. Alice Yeager will be held at 5 PM on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at Louisville Memorial Gardens West Funeral Home, 4400 Dixie Highway, Louisville, Kentucky. Visitation will be held from 11 AM to 5 PM at the funeral home, prior to the service. Private burial at Louisville Memorial Gardens West will take place on Wednesday, May 27, 2026.
