DANKS, CHARLES HENRY, 82, passed away at his home with his loving family beside him on May 23, 2010.
Mr. Danks was a member of the Pipefitters Union Local 522 and had retired from International Harvester after 34 years of service. Mr. Danks was also a mason and member of the Robinson Lodge for 39 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry T. and Lalia Smith Danks; and one grandson, Mark David Williams.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, June Walters Danks; one son, Charles Michael Danks (Charlene); three daughters, Pat Danks, Linda Diane Danks Roberts (Tommy) and Brenda Darlene Danks Dennis (Ricky); four grandsons, Chuck Danks (Raven), Glenn Roberts, Scott Danks (Spring) and Jerry Roberts (Christy); seven great-grandchildren, Kristen and Courtney Danks, Emily and Ethan Roberts, Dalton and Austin Danks and Kennedy Roberts.
The funeral service celebrating Mr. Danks' life will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 4400 Dixie Highway. Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Tuesday and 10-11 a.m. Wednesday prior to service. Burial will be private in Louisville Memorial Gardens Cemetery West.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be made to Hosparus of Louisville or Courtney's Lung Transplant Trust, 6802 Casey Place, Louisville, KY 40229.
