David Lee Skaggs Jr.

David Lee Skaggs Jr., 66, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, in his hometown of Louisville, Kentucky.

He was born on November 3, 1959, to David Skaggs Sr. and the late Dolores Skaggs. David cherished every moment spent with both his immediate and extended family. He took great joy in caring for his nieces and nephews, who lovingly nicknamed him “Mr. Mom,” a title he wore with pride.

David was known for his quick wit and wonderful sense of humor. He also had a deep passion for classic GTOs and enjoyed playing Scrabble, often engaging in friendly competition with family and friends. In his spare time, David was drawn to the art of scrapping and repurposing.

David will be remembered for his kindness, humor, and unwavering love for his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

His memory will live on in the hearts of those he touched.

David is preceded in death by his mother, Dolores Conway Skaggs.

Left to cherish his memory, David is survived by his father, David Skaggs Sr.; 4 siblings, Sharon King (Ron), Donna Williams (Denis), Cynthia Pottinger (William), and Stephen Skaggs (Shani); many nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family and close friends.

A memorial service for David Skaggs Jr. will be held at a later date.
