Dolores Jean Geftos

Dolores Jean Geftos, 88, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 4, 2026.

She was born on July 23, 1937, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late Joseph and Lillie Mae Jones.

Dolores was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend whose life was defined by compassion, generosity, and unwavering kindness. She had a remarkable ability to make others feel cared for and valued, and she found great joy in helping those around her.

She especially loved cooking and took pride in preparing meals for her family. Whether at home or with her extended family at the Masonic Home, Dolores expressed her love through the comfort of food and togetherness. Her warmth and selflessness left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Dolores will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, but her legacy of kindness and love will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched.

Dolores is preceded in death by her loving husband of 45 years, Andrew Geftos; 3 daughters, Andrea McCurdy, Connie Kirchner, and Johanna McCorkle; son-in-law, James McCorkle; and her parents, Joseph Jones and Lillie Mae Clark Jones.

Left to cherish her memory, Dolores is survived by her loving son, Spelios A. Geftos (Cheryl); 3 grandchildren, Rachel Sheahan (Jason), Kyle Geftos, and Sarah Geftos; 3 nieces, Claire Renaud, Shelley Harty, and Maria Geftos-Davidson; and a host of extended family and close friends.

A funeral service for Ms. Dolores Geftos will be held at 1 PM on Friday, April 10, 2026, at Louisville Memorial Gardens West Funeral Home, 4400 Dixie Highway, Louisville, Kentucky. Visitation will be held from 10 AM to 1 PM at the funeral home, prior to the service. Entombment at Louisville Memorial Gardens West will follow the funeral service.
