ADKISSON, DORIS JEAN CUNNINGHAM, 83, wife of the late Heyward Earl Adkisson, died Friday September 16, 2011 at St. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital.
Born November 23, 1927 in Jefferson Co. she is the daughter of the late Richard and Alma Zoeller Cunningham. Doris Jean was a member of Beechland Baptist Church and Order of the Eastern Star #566. She was also a retired 25-year nurses aide at St. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital.
She was preceded in death by a son, Michael Gale Adkisson.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Jean Adkisson Smith (Raymond); one son, Terry Wayne Adkisson; five grandchildren, David and Danny Smith, Chris and Kevin Adkisson and Stacy Cordona; and four great-grandchildren.
A service celebrating Doris Jean's life will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 4400 Dixie Hwy. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
