Black, Dorothy Keown,87, entered into rest on Tuesday, May 19, 2015, with her family at her side. She was a retired purchasing secretary for Brown and Williamson. She was a member of TOPS of Sun Valley. Her family was her number one priority and was loved by all. She also was a charter member of South Jefferson Christian Church where she was involved with Sunday school class and trips with Young At Hearts. She and Joe loved to travel, including their yearly trips to St. Pete Florida, Branson and numerous Toby Tours.Besides her parents, Mrs. Black was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Black; a niece, Linda Silva; and great-nephew, Steven Silva.She is survived by her son, Larry Black (Victoria); a grandson, Dennis Harding; great-grandchildren, Lauren, Alexis, Jonathan and Natalie; her sister, Betty J. Johnson (Peter); two nephews, Robert and Tommy Taylor; a brother-in-law, Jack Black (LaVerne); and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Parker.Mrs. Black's funeral service will be on Friday at 10am at the Heady-Hardy Funeral Home, 7710 Dixie Highway, with interment following in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be Thursday from 2pm until 8pm.Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Hosparus.
