Douglas R. Hicks | Visit Guest Book HICKS, DOUGLAS R., 59, died peacefully in his sleep on Monday, May 3, 2010 in Cincinnati, OH.
Born and raised in Louisville, Douglas graduated from duPont Manual High School and the University of Kentucky. He was also a member of the Louisville Air National Guard. He served six years as a chaplain's assistant.
Douglas was preceded in death by his parents, Duluth R. Hicks and Jeanette Tharp Hicks.
Douglas is survived by his devoted sister, Donna Hicks Winters; brother-in-law, Larry Winters; nephew, Brad H. Winters; and niece, Julie H. Winters Napier.
A private memorial service for immediate family and close friends is planned for Douglas on Saturday, May 15, 2010 at Memorial Gardens South. Walker Funeral Home, Mt. Healthy, OH, is assisting the family.
Expressions of sympathy may be expressed in the form of a contribution in Douglas' memory to the many mental health organizations or to the American Cancer Society .
