Edith Goben

Goben, Edith M. (Holthouser) GOBEN, EDITH M. (HOLTHOUSER), 90, of Louisville, passed away Thursday, September 6, 2007 at Parkway Medical Center. She was a charter member of Southside Baptist Church, retired from the Louisville Police Department of 31 years as a school guard and a devoted volunteer to the Fairdale ministries for many years. She is survived by her son, Carl W. Goben Jr. (Patricia); daughter, Brenda G. Cox (Manuel); sisters, Irene Poston, Martha Kaylor, Alice Miller and Agnes Cook; brother, Robert Cash; nine grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and one great- great-grandson. A celebration of Edith's life will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the Southside Baptist Church, 804 Camden Avenue, with burial to follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens West Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Friday. Expressions of sympathy to be made to Southside Baptist Church.
