HUMPHRIES, ELVA, 74, of Louisville, passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at her residence.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was a retired teacher for the Annarundal County School System in Maryland and the chesterfield County School System in Virginia. She was a member of the Taylorsville Rd. Church of Christ and the ALS Support Group.
Elva is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, John A. Humphries; daughters, Ruth Morris (Marc), Temple Terrace, FL and Lydia Casey (Evan), Salem, IN; sister, Suzanne Horlacker, Bucks Co., PA; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Her funeral service will be at noon Saturday, January 21, 2012 at Highlands Family-Owned Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road with burial to follow in Louisville Memorial Gardens East Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday at Highlands.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to the ALS Foundation.
