CARTER, HAYWARD "JOE," 74, passed away Friday, June 11, 2010 at Norton Hospital Downtown, with his family at his side.
He was born in Ohio County, KY to Dewey and Gladys (Murphy) Carter. He was retired from J-Town BP Service Center and was the former owner of All Around Brake Service.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Virginia "Jenny" (Higdon) Carter; and a sister, Mary Lou Cowles.
Survivors include his children, Ginger Raney (Ronnie), Billy Carter (Susan) and Kim Sullivan (Larry); three grandchildren, Shawna Sullivan and Randi and Cori Carter; and one brother, Wilmer "Bill" Carter.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy., with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be 2 - 8 p.m. Monday.
