James E. Lyons "Ed" Share E-mail Visit Guest Book LYONS, JAMES E. "ED," 74, passed away Monday, September 28, 2009 at Hosparus Inpatient Care Center.
He was born in Cincinnati, OH to Cecil and Nellie (White) Lyons. He was a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University with a master's degree in industrial arts.
He was a retired industrial arts teacher at Pleasure Ridge Park High School for 27 years, retiring in 1989. He was a Coast Guard veteran and a Kentucky Colonel.
He was a member of Kenwood Heights Christian Church for many years, where he was a former elder and deacon.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter, Alexandria Marie Lyons.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years Betty Lyons (Kidwell); his children, Jeff Lyons (Krista) and Matthew E. Lyons; a granddaughter, Morgan Taylor Lyons; and a sister-in-law, Helen Kitts.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy., with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation: 2 - 8 p.m. Wednesday.
