James Portman

Portman, James E.,90, passed away Wednesday April 1, 2015 at Franciscan Health Care. He was a World War II veteran of the Marine Corps, a member of Millcreek VFW Post #5421 , Kinghts of Columbus Fourth Degree Monsignor Newman Council and a member of Incarnation Catholic Church.He is preceded in death by his wife Katharine, parents Charles and Mary Portman, brother Bernard Portman, sisters LaVerne Gillespie and Wanda Fitzpatrick . Survivors include his daughters Kathy "Kat" Clifford (Bill) and Angela Burks (Robert ); brother Charles "Charlie" Portman, sisters, Mary Hall, and Jeri Clark and four grandchildren Sophie, Anna, Joseph and Leo. His funeral will be 10 am Saturday at Incarnation Catholic Church 2229 Lower Hunters Trace, with burial at Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be 1 pm to 8 pm Friday, at Owen Funeral Home 5317 Dixie Hwy.
