James Henry Quiggins, Sr., 75, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 6, 2026, in Louisville, Kentucky.
Born on April 27, 1950, in Louisville, Kentucky, James was the beloved son of Robert and Minnie Quiggins. He lived his entire life rooted in the community he loved, building a legacy of hard work, dedication, and deep family bonds.
James was a proud veteran of the United States Army and a longtime, dedicated employee of Wal-Mart, where he formed lasting friendships and truly cherished his work family. Known for his strong work ethic and straightforward nature, James was a no-nonsense, old-school kind of man. Though he could be a bit stubborn at times, he never let it linger—he would move forward and carry on with quiet determination.
Affectionately known by many as “Bingo Jim,” he found great joy in visiting Derby City Gaming, where he spent countless hours perfecting his game and enjoying the company of friends. In his spare time, James loved cheering on his beloved UK Wildcats, listening to classic country music, and watching his favorite show, The Andy Griffith Show.
Above all, James was a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, father-in-law, and friend. His love for his family was unwavering, and his presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
His memory will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind, carried forward in stories, laughter, and the values he instilled in his family.
James is preceded in death by his loving wife of 30+ years, Connie Quiggins; 2 sons, James Quiggins Jr. and Christopher Dale Quiggins; 6 siblings, Franky, Dukey, Mary Lou, Minnie Florence, Johnny, and Morris; and his parents, Robert Lee Quiggins Sr. and Minnie Levonia Gibson Quiggins.
Left to cherish his memory, James is survived by 3 children, Donna Gail Robinson (Larry), Jeremy Quiggins, and Wendy Quiggins (Dale); 16 grandchildren, Jamie Lynn Quiggins, Kevin Wheat Jr., Brandon Scroggins, Megan Wheat, Charles Cravens, Joey Quiggins, James Quiggins III, Hope Cravens, Daniel Quiggins, Gracie Quiggins, Nautica Cravens, Ethan Quiggins, Savannah Quiggins, Katie Robinson, Justin Quiggins, and Larry Robinson Jr.; 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Betty; daughter-in-law, Marsha Quiggins; many nieces/nephews; and a host of extended family and close friends.
