ELDER, JERRY N., 69, died Wednesday morning June 9, 2010 at the Golden Living Nursing Home in Camelot.
Jerry was born May 23, 1941 in Hartford, KY, to the late Louise W. Nall and Forrest C. Elder.
He moved to Louisville when he was very young and was a member of Crescent Hill Baptist Church.
He married Nancy Helm on February 10,1968, managing to stay married 42 years. Nancy and Jerry's daughter, Carrie Ann Embry was born November 5, 1973.
Jerry was employed by World Tobac LTD in his younger days, and retired on disability from I.C.I. in Charlestown, IN, after many years of service.
He had many good years camping and boating and card-playing at Patoka Lake. Jerry had an avid love for dogs and cats and never quit asking about Doobie and Scooter.
The family would like to thank the Staff of Golden Living Camelot for their loving care for Jerry.
A service to Celebrate the life of Jerry will be held at 8 p.m. Friday evening in the Chapel of Arch L. Heady & Son, 7410 Westport Road, with private interment in Louisville Memorial Gardens East. Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Friday. Please visit our website
