Johanna McCorkle, age 63, passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2026, in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Johanna was born on September 16, 1962, in Louisville, Kentucky, to Andrew and Dolores Geftos. She lived a life grounded in faith, grace, and quiet strength.
Deeply devoted to her beliefs, Johanna carried with her the values of kindness, humility, and compassion that were instilled in her from an early age. Her faith was a guiding light throughout her life and was reflected in the way she treated others—with gentleness, understanding, and love.
Johanna also took great pride in her appearance, always making sure to look and feel her best wherever she went. She carried herself with dignity and confidence, leaving a lasting impression on those around her.
In her spare time, Johanna found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She appreciated quiet moments and the small, meaningful details of everyday life, reflecting her peaceful spirit and thoughtful nature.
Johanna will be remembered for her grace, her faith, and the warmth she brought into the lives of others. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends.
Johanna is preceded in death by her loving husband, James McCorkle; sisters, Andrea McCurdy and Connie Kirchner; and her father, Andrew Geftos.
Left to cherish her memory, Johanna is survived by her mother, Dolores Jones Geftos; brother, Spelios A. Geftos (Cheryl); nieces, Rachel Sheahan (Jason) and Sarah Geftos; nephew, Kyle Geftos; 3 cousins, Claire Renaud, Shelly Harty, and Maria Geftos Davidson; and a host of extended family and close friends.
A funeral service for Ms. Johanna McCorkle will be held at 1 PM on Friday, April 3, 2026, at Louisville Memorial Gardens West Funeral Home, 4400 Dixie Highway, Louisville, Kentucky. Visitation will be held from 10 AM to 1 PM at the funeral home, prior to the service. Entombment at Louisville Memorial Gardens West will follow the funeral service.
