Joseph Ronald Cecil, age 83, of Sevierville, Tennessee passed away on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Louisville, Kentucky on July 13, 1942, the son of Augustus and Addie Cecil.
Joseph was a loving dad, papaw, and brother. He was a proud member of the first graduating class of DeSales High School. After his second retirement, Joseph settled in Sevierville where he enjoyed the relaxed nature of the mountains.

In his spare time, Joseph enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson, going boating, and spending time at his cabin indulging with his favorite cigar and bourbon. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, Joseph was preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Kathy Jo Ryan Cecil, who passed away on June 30, 2014. He is also preceded by his sister, Sylvia Cecil Modesty Colyd; and a brother, Richard Cecil.
