Linda Rhea Gabhart, 84, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 16, 2025, in Louisville, Kentucky. Born on March 9, 1941, to Theodore and Eva Weisenberger, Linda spent her life in the city she loved and where she built a beautiful life surrounded by family and friends.
A devoted wife, mother, and beloved Mimi, Linda’s greatest joy came from caring for those around her. She was known for her vibrant personality, quick wit, and her unmistakable gift of gab. Never one to shy away from sharing her thoughts, Linda brought laughter, warmth, and a little sass into every room she entered.
Linda was a passionate and attentive grandmother, cherishing every moment spent with her grandchildren. She took pride in passing down her love of sewing, patiently teaching little hands how to stitch with care—leaving behind not just memories, but heirlooms of love in every thread. In addition to sewing, she lovingly crocheted afghan blankets for her children and grandchildren, each one a symbol of her enduring care.
For 60 years, Linda was a loyal Bunco player, forming lifelong friendships and countless memories around the game table. Her fun-loving spirit and competitive edge made her a favorite among the group. She also enjoyed decades of treasured family vacations to Daytona Beach, a tradition that spanned 35 years and brought generations together in joy.
In her quiet moments, Linda could often be found watching her favorite shows—Wagon Train, The Rifleman, Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, and Judge Judy, to name a few—always with a keen eye and a sharp commentary. Her tastes were classic, and so was she.
Above all, Linda held her role as Mimi closest to her heart. She poured her love into her family, and her legacy of care, creativity, and connection will live on in those who had the privilege to know her.
Linda is breathing freely in the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Linda is preceded in death by her loving husband of 40 years, George Gabhart; brother, Terry Weisenberger; and her parents, Theodore Roosevelt Weisenberger and Eva Profitt Weisenberger.
Left to cherish her memory, Linda is survived by her children, Jeffrey W. Gabhart (Kristin) and Krista Munday (Chris); grandchildren, Chaynee Munday (Taylor), Grayson Munday (Kylie), Kylie Gabhart, Preston Munday, Levi Munday, Ryder Munday, Ainsley Munday, Merritt Munday, Lilly Gabhart, and Mia Gabhart; great-grandchildren, Rhodes Munday and Grady Munday; sister-in-law, Janeva Gabhart; and a host of extended family and close friends.
A funeral service for Mrs. Linda Gabhart will be held at 7 PM on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at Louisville Memorial Gardens West Funeral Home, 4400 Dixie Highway, Louisville, Kentucky. Visitation will be held from 3 PM to 7 PM prior to the service, at the funeral home. Private burial at Louisville Memorial Gardens West will take place on Wednesday, October 22, 2025.
