BARNES, MARY IRENE, 89, of LaGrange, KY passed away on Tuesday, May 22, 2012.
She was a member of Westport Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Hugh E. Barnes Sr.; a son, Hugh E. Barnes Jr.; her sister, Imogene Sherrell; and a son-in-law, Gary Gardner.
She is survived by two sons, Willard (Joy) and Paul Barnes; two daughters, Elaine Gardner and Cindy (Craig) Retzlaff; a daughter-in-law, Mary Sue Barnes; three brothers, Fred (Velta), Tom (Judy) and Pete (Grace) Smith; six sisters, Ruth Hicks, Doris Tingle, Betty (Elmer) Rittenberry, Janet (Sam) Strong, Pat (Jim) Lentz and Judy Fay (Donnie) Winters; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 11a.m. Friday at Oldham County Funeral Home, 706 W. Jefferson St., LaGrange, KY. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Westport Baptist Life Center Building Fund or Friendship Manor Activities.
