ELAM, MARY WAKEFIELD "GRAM," 82, passed away peacefully Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at her home with her family by her side.
Mary was a loving caring wife and mother and a devoted Christian and prayer warrior.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and three sisters.
Mary is survived by a loving family, Dr. Melvin L. Elam, Douglas Elam (Marianne) of Plainfield, IN, Deborah Brown (Mike) of Floyds Knob, IN, Melody Newton (Craig) of Lexington, KY, Mark Elam (Denyse) of Louisville; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Irene Allred, Jean Christensen, Jonnie Hale and Amy Bilbrey.
A service celebrating the life of Mary will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 4400 Dixie Hwy. Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be made to Rockford Lane Baptist Church or Hosparus of Louisville.
