Mary Mildred Scharre

Mary Mildred Hutchins Scharre, 100, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 13, 2025, in Louisville, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Scharre; parents, Austin and Praxie Hutchins; brothers, Bill, Big Boy, Buster, Louis and Randall Hutchins; sisters, LaVonne Hagan and Corrine Yates; and granddaughter, Becky Wahl.

Mildred was a dedicated employee of BellSouth for 12 years and retired from the Jefferson County Board of Education after 16 years of service.

Left to cherish her memory, Mildred is survived by her daughter, Linda Wahl (Larry); sons, Bruce and Brian Scharre; grandson, Ricky Wahl; granddaughter, Lisa Wahl; great-granddaughter, Carter Ash; brother, Ronnie Hutchins (Judy); lots of nieces/nephews; and a host of great friends and neighbors.

A funeral service for Mrs. Mary Mildred Scharre will be held at 6 PM on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at Louisville Memorial Gardens West Funeral Home, 4400 Dixie Highway, Louisville, Kentucky. Visitation will be held from 2 PM to 6 PM at the funeral home, prior to the service. Private entombment at Louisville Memorial Gardens West will take place on Friday, December 19, 2025.
