Andrea Denise Johnson, 51, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, in her hometown of Louisville, Kentucky.
Born on September 24, 1973, to Melvin and Dianne Johnson, Andrea spent her life in the city she loved, surrounded by family, laughter, and memories. She was a devoted mother, a proud grandmother, a caring sister, and a steadfast friend.
Andrea was employed at All America Pool, where she was not only a valued team member but also part of a workplace family that took good care of her. Known for her strong work ethic, she quietly carried the weight of being a single mom with grace, humor, and grit—always doing what needed to be done to provide for her family.
She appreciated the simpler things in life and never asked for much. A little hardheaded and stubborn at times—traits her family lovingly came to expect—Andrea was deeply nostalgic. She believed that cardinals were visits from loved ones passed, and she found comfort and joy in their presence. A lover of books, she could often be found with a good novel in hand and a quick-witted comment ready to follow.
Andrea had a wicked sense of humor, the kind that lit up a room. She often joked about playing AC/DC’s Highway to Hell at her funeral, a nod to her playful spirit and the way she never took life too seriously.
Andrea leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and resilience. She will be deeply missed by her family, her friends, and all who were lucky enough to know her.
Andrea is preceded in death by her parents, Melvin Wayne Johnson and Dianne Marie Caummisar Johnson.
Left to cherish her memory, Andrea is survived by her 3 daughters, Heather Webb (Janson), Allieda Johnson, and Haleigh Johnson; 2 grandchildren, Arieale and Kendall; 5 siblings, Michelle Johnson Gann, Melvin Johnson, Jeff Johnson, Shawn Johnson, and Kristi Johnson; and a host of extended family and close friends.
A funeral service for Ms. Andrea Denise Johnson will be held at 6 PM on Friday, April 25, 2025, at Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Home West, 4400 Dixie Highway, Louisville, Kentucky. Visitation will be held from 12 PM to 6 PM at the funeral home, prior to the service.
