Dennis Howard Rutledge

Dennis Howard Rutledge, 90, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, April 2, 2023.  He was born on January 4, 1933, to the late Howard and Verna (Kitchens) Rutledge in Montgomery, Alabama.

Dennis and his loving wife, Betty, were married in September 1951 and have enjoyed 71 years of marriage.  He was a Mason, electrician, plumber, and business owner, owning Rutledge Rental & Repair for many years after retiring from International Harvester where he was a tool and die maker/machinist after 34 years of service.  Dennis was a member of Cloverleaf Baptist Church for many years.  He enjoyed traveling with his wife, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.  He will be greatly missed.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Guy Rutledge and Chilton Vest.

Surviving Dennis is his wife, Betty Rutledge; his children, Howard Rutledge (Mary) and Janice Wells (David); his grandchildren, Jason Wells (Amy), Sarah Dishon (Ronnie), Joshua Rutledge (Kristin), Jed Rutledge, Stuart Rutledge, and Kristen Moreh (Yoni); along with his great-grandchildren, Carson, Alaina, James, Noah, Lilly, Leila, Rivkah and Haiya.

A funeral service will be held at Noon on Thursday, April 6, 2023, at Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Homes West, 4400 Dixie Highway.  Friends may call on the family at the funeral home on  Wednesday from 5PM until 8PM and Thursday from 10AM until the time of service at Noon.
