James Ronald Crigler

July 21, 1946 — March 6, 2025

Louisville, Kentucky

James Ronald “Ron” Crigler, born on July 21, 1946, in Louisville, Kentucky, was called home to be with the Lord on March 6, 2025, passing peacefully at home with his devoted wife, Susie, by his side. Together, they shared 50 years of love, faith, and family.

Ron was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Mary Ellen (Sweat) Crigler, and many deeply missed aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents. He leaves behind his greatest legacy—his family—whom he loved with all his heart. He is survived by his children, Angela Caudill (Garrett), Kevin Crigler (Leslie), and Crystal Alcorn (Andrew), as well as his cherished grandchildren (Austin, Aaron, Aidan, Stella, Arlo and Hyla).

Ron lived his life with unwavering devotion to God, his family, and his values. He was a proud Navy veteran, serving his country with honor. Ron was also a talented musician, playing the drums for many years before becoming a booking agent for Guy Rhodes Entertainment. Some of his most meaningful memories were made on the softball field, coaching his daughter Crystal where they formed an unbreakable bond. A dedicated UK basketball fan, he cheered passionately for his team.

Above all, Ron’s greatest joy and purpose in life was found in being a husband, father, and Papaw. He led by example, teaching kindness, integrity, and the importance of family.

A celebration of Ron’s life will be held at 7:00pm on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at Louisville Memorial Gardens West, 4400 Dixie Highway, Louisville, Kentucky 40216. Visitation will take place from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM, at the funeral home.

Ron will be cremated and bestowed with military honors in recognition of his service. His ashes will be laid to rest with reverence at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central at a later date, to be determined.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial donations be made to Hosparus Health.
