It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jerry Ann (Miller) Capshaw, who died peacefully in her home in Louisville, Kentucky, on February 10, 2025, at the age of 78. Jerry was born on July 11, 1946, in Louisville, Kentucky, where she spent her entire life surrounded by the people she loved.
Jerry was known for her feisty and vibrant personality, her kind heart, and her unwavering devotion to her family. She spent 53 loving years with her husband, James Capshaw, sharing countless memories and moments of joy. Jerry was a dedicated housewife, taking great pride in creating a warm and welcoming home for her family. She was a woman who would give the shirt off her back to anyone in need, always putting others before herself.
Jerry's nurturing spirit extended beyond her family. She had a love for tending to her beautiful flower beds and the plants that adorned both the inside and outside of her home. Gardening was a true passion of hers, and she found peace and joy in the simple act of caring for the living things around her. She also enjoyed spending quiet time with her word search books, always challenging herself and finding satisfaction in the completion of each puzzle.
Above all, Jerry was deeply devoted to those she loved. She will be remembered as a caring and selfless person who gave her all to her family, friends, and community. Her warmth, her strength, and her ability to bring laughter and love into any room will never be forgotten.
Jerry is preceded in death by her loving husband, James R. Capshaw; 2 sons, Terry Capshaw and Ronnie Capshaw; and 2 brothers, Steven M. Miller and Jesse A. Miller.
Left to cherish her memory, Jerry is survived by her son, James L. Capshaw; 3 grandchildren, Lonikay Fisher (Jason), Cody Capshaw, and Cortney Capshaw; 3 siblings, Larry Miller, Carol Rodgers, and Lori Lococo; 1 brother-in-law, Jack Capshaw; 1 sister-in-law, Gloria J. Butler; and a host of extended family and close friends.
A visitation will be held Monday, February 17, 2025, from 12 PM to 2 PM at Louisville Memorial Gardens West, 4400 Dixie Highway, Louisville, Kentucky. Burial will follow visitation at 2 PM.
