Joseph Warren Allen

July 3, 1967 — June 28, 2025

Louisville, KY

Joseph “Joe” Warren Allen, age 57, passed away peacefully at his home in Louisville, Kentucky, on Saturday, June 28, 2025.

Born on July 3, 1967, in Nashville, Tennessee, Joe was the beloved son of Lawrence and Patricia Allen. He was a loving husband, devoted father, caring son, loyal brother, and cherished uncle — a man who consistently put the needs of those he loved above his own.

Joe lived a life rooted in humility, hard work, and quiet strength. A graduate of Bellarmine University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, he found his calling not in the corporate world but in the peaceful, grounded work of caring for the very campus where he studied. As a longtime groundskeeper at Bellarmine, Joe took pride in maintaining the natural beauty of the place he called his second home.

Throughout his life, Joe also dedicated himself to other roles with steadfast diligence — including his time as a store manager at Sherwin Williams and as a committed employee at UPS. No matter the job, he approached his work with integrity, humility, and a quiet dedication that didn’t seek recognition but earned the respect of all who worked with him.

Joe found joy in the simple things — a good song, a quiet afternoon, or a UK basketball game. He had a deep love for all types of music, a lifelong admiration for Dennis Rodman, and was an avid fan of University of Kentucky basketball and football. Though he was a bit of a loner by nature, Joe’s presence was always steady and comforting to those who knew him.

Joe leaves behind a legacy of love, loyalty, and quiet strength. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege to know him.

Joe is preceded in death by his grandparents, Frank and Marita Hardy.

Left to cherish his memory, Joe is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth Coyle Allen; son, Noah Coyle; parents, Lawrence Joseph Allen and Patricia Ann Hardy Allen; brother, John David Allen (Michelle); niece, Katie Allen; and a host of extended family and close friends.
