Lewis Paul Brown II, 77, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2025, in his hometown of Louisville, Kentucky. Born on September 9, 1947, in Louisville, Paul was the beloved son of Lewis Paul Brown I and Ruby Irene Brown.
A spirited and outgoing man, Paul lived a life full of laughter, love, and passion. In his younger days, he found joy in the great outdoors, spending time hunting and golfing—two of his favorite pastimes. As the years went on, he traded the woods and fairways for the comfort of his home, where he developed a love for model cars, surrounding himself with intricate pieces that reflected his patience and appreciation for detail.
Paul never met a pool table he didn’t like, and he especially lit up when playing poker—Texas Hold ’Em being his game of choice. He and his beloved wife shared many casino trips together, creating memories over cards, conversation, and the occasional lucky hand.
A devoted grandfather, Paul’s eyes would always brighten at the sight of his grandbabies. His love for them was boundless, and he cherished every moment spent in their presence.
Music was a constant companion in Paul’s life, and he had a special place in his heart for the legendary George Jones. One of his all-time favorite songs, “He Stopped Loving Her Today,” held deep meaning for him and reflected his soulful and sentimental side.
Paul is preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 plus years, Ava Brown; parents, Lewis Paul Brown I and Ruby Irene Grubbs Brown; and 2 sisters, Linda and Shirley Ann.
Left to cherish his memory, Paul is survived by his daughter, Shelly Mirus (Michael); grandchildren, Jasmine Buchanan (Jacob), Ethan Mirus, and Sydney Mirus; and a host of extended family and close friends.
Paul leaves behind a legacy of warmth, humor, and love. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
