Lisa Charlene Wilt, 62, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 10, 2025, in Louisville, Kentucky. Born on November 9, 1962, in Jackson, Mississippi, Lisa was the beloved daughter of Larry and Nancy Long.
Lisa lived a life with deep devotion to her family. A proud and adoring mother and Mimi, she cherished every moment spent with her children and grandchildren. Her family was her heart, and she poured her energy, warmth, and guidance into every role she played—whether it was giving hugs, advice, or sharing one of her signature laughs.
For over 30 years, Lisa served as a dedicated Family Service Manager at Louisville Memorial Gardens. She brought compassion and strength to her work, touching the lives of countless families with her calming presence and heartfelt care. Her colleagues weren’t just coworkers—they were her second family. To so many, Lisa wasn’t just a friend; she was “momma”—a constant source of support, wisdom, and love.
Known for her vibrant personality and sharp sense of humor (with just the right amount of sass), Lisa never met a stranger. Her laughter was contagious, her spirit magnetic, and her kindness unwavering. Whether she was cracking a joke, offering a shoulder to cry on, or simply being her authentic self, Lisa had a way of making everyone feel seen and loved.
She found peace in the simple joys of life—sitting on the patio with her beloved fur babies, Bean and Petunia, a White Claw in hand, and her hair perfectly styled (as it always had to be).
Lisa’s wit, loyalty, and boundless heart will be missed beyond words. She leaves behind a legacy of love and unforgettable memories that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
She was one of a kind. And those lucky enough to know her will carry a piece of her light with them always.
Lisa is preceded in death by her parents, Larry Long and Nancy Horn Long; 2nd mom, Rita Augenstein; and a nephew, Brandon Wright.
Left to cherish her memory, Lisa is survived by her loving children, Ryan Wilt, Kristen Bension (Nicolas), and Brittany Wilt; 3 beloved grandchildren, Hadley (Baby Snakes), Levi (Dude), and Callen (Gump); 2 fur babies, Bean and Petunia; all her work family at Louisville Memorial Gardens; and a host of extended family and close friends.
A funeral service for Ms. Lisa Wilt will be held at 12 PM on Friday, July 18, 2025, at Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Home West. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2025, from 2 PM to 8 PM; and prior to the funeral service from 10 AM to 12 PM. Entombment at Louisville Memorial Gardens East, 11601 Ballardsville Road, Louisville, Kentucky will follow the funeral service.
