Marjorie W. Royse, 93, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, in Louisville, Kentucky. Born on August 4, 1931, in Campbellsville, Kentucky, to Stanley and Ora Williams, Marjorie lived a long and meaningful life grounded in faith, family, and service to others.
A devoted Christian, Marjorie professed faith in Christ daily with kindness, generosity, and strength. She was a loving mother, sister, and friend whose heart was deeply devoted to her daughter, Beverly Ann. Their bond was unbreakable, and their shared love of life brought joy to those around them—especially on their cherished trips to Gatlinburg, where they delighted in the music and energy of Elvis impersonators.
As the eldest of five children, Marjorie was known for her outgoing personality and natural leadership—sometimes accompanied by a bit of bossiness, lovingly remembered by those who knew her best. She took pride in bringing her family together, especially during the holidays, when her home was always filled with warmth, laughter, and togetherness.
Marjorie had a deep passion for supporting individuals with special needs and was actively involved in developing programs to help families navigating those challenges. Her compassion and advocacy touched many lives and left a lasting legacy in the community.
Marjorie will be remembered for her unwavering love, her joyful spirit, and her fierce dedication to those she cared for. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Marjorie is preceded in death by her loving husband, John S. Royse; her parents, Stanley Williams and Ora Weatherford Williams; and 3 siblings, Patricia Rigney, Jimmy Williams, and Nancy Gabehart.
Left to cherish her memory, Marjorie is survived by her daughter, Beverly Ann Royse; sister, Sue Cox; many nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family and close friends.
