Mary Vivian Judd, devoted wife, loving mother, cherished Mammaw, Great Mammaw, and Great-Great Mammaw, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 4, 2025, surrounded by the family she loved so dearly.
Born on September 13, 1938, to Jack and Stella Thompson, Mary was a beacon of warmth, strength, and unwavering loyalty. A proud graduate of the Manual High School Class of 1956, she went on to dedicate 30 years of service as a bookkeeper at Doss High School, where her diligence and kind spirit touched the lives of many.
Mary’s greatest joy was her family and friends. Fiercely loyal and endlessly loving, she never missed a chance to share a laugh, lend a listening ear, or enjoy a good meal out with loved ones. Her radiant smile and cheerful presence made every gathering brighter. She had a special gift for making others feel remembered and cherished—she never forgot a birthday or holiday and was known for sending thoughtful cards to everyone, year after year. Her words always arrived just when they were needed, full of kindness and care.
She is survived by the love of her life, David Judd, whom she met in the 4th grade. Their childhood friendship blossomed into a lifelong romance, and they recently celebrated an incredible 69 years together as husband and wife.
Mary’s legacy continues through her beloved children, Vivian Leigh French (Kevin) and David “Ken” Judd, and her treasured grandchildren: Davey Judd (Mary), Jenifer Roberts (Trey), Colby French (Becky), Nick Judd (Leah), and Danielle Judd.
She was the proud great-grandmother of McKayla, Raeleigh, Annie, Rayce, Jack, Claire, Julianna, Brooks, Gabe, Wyatt, Beau, and Chandler, and the doting great-great-grandmother of Amir.
Mary’s life was a testament to love, devotion, and joyful living. She leaves behind a legacy of deep family bonds, heartfelt memories, and a life well lived. She will be missed more than words can express but remembered with every story shared, every laugh around the table, and every loving moment that lives on through those who knew her.
