Michael Lee Lynch

August 1, 1948 — June 26, 2025

Louisville, KY

Michael Lee Lynch, 76, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 26, 2025, in Louisville, Kentucky, surrounded by the love and comfort of his devoted family.

Born on August 1, 1948, in Louisville to Vincent and May Belle Lynch, Michael lived a life marked by dedication, humor, and an unwavering love for those closest to him. A proud veteran of the U.S. Army, Michael served his country honorably during the Vietnam War.

Michael was the heart of his family—a husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who cherished every moment with his loved ones. He loved those grandbabies more than words could ever express, and nothing brought him greater joy than time spent surrounded by their laughter and energy.

A master electrician by trade, Michael had a remarkable gift for solving problems—especially if they involved wires, switches, or anything that could spark. Family and friends always knew they could count on him to lend a hand (and probably give a little sass while doing it). Known for his spitfire spirit, a touch of stubbornness, and that classic hardheaded streak, Michael could always be counted on to speak his mind and stand his ground—qualities that only made him more beloved.

In his well-earned spare time, he enjoyed the simple pleasures: casting a line on a quiet day of fishing, indulging in his favorite sweets, laughing along to episodes of M.A.S.H., and traveling with family to his favorite spot, Jekyll Island, where many treasured memories were made.

Michael leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and loyalty. He will be profoundly missed by all who knew and loved him, and his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends.

Michael is preceded in death by his parents, Vincent Cecil Lynch and May Belle Crusott Lynch; and a brother, William Ray Lynch.

Left to cherish his memory, Michael is survived by his loving wife, Glenda Lynch; 2 children, Michelle McCawley (James) and Derek Lynch (Jennifer); 7 grandchildren, Ryan Franke (T), Kaitlin Franke (Christian), Shelby Siers, Alexandra McCawley, Gavin Lynch, Abigail Lynch, and Caden McCawley; 3 great-grandchildren, Maggie Franke, Penny Franke, and Luna Chew; 2 siblings, Cheri May and Greg Lynch (Dawn); 2 nephews, Tristan Lynch and Austin Lynch; niece, Jessica Lynch; friends, Marie, Kevin, Nate, Conner, and Luke; and a host of extended family and close friends.
