Nadine Daugherty

December 30, 1934 — June 22, 2025

Louisville, Kentucky

Nadine Daugherty, 90, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2025, surrounded by the love of family and friends. Born on December 30, 1934, in Caneyville, Kentucky, to Hobert C. and Dora A. Embry, Nadine lived a life deeply rooted in faith, joy, and service.

For 40 plus years, Nadine dedicated her heart and soul to the Evangel Prison Ministry, bringing hope, compassion, and the word of God to countless lives behind prison walls. Her devotion to the Lord was unwavering, and her life was a true testament to her Christian faith.

Church was Nadine’s world. She was known for calling her friends as early as 4:30 in the morning to start their day in prayer — a practice they not only grew to expect, but cherish. Her prayer group was a source of strength and unity, and she considered it her calling to lift others up in faith every single day.

When she wasn’t in church or on the phone praying with her beloved friends, Nadine could be found indulging in one of her favorite pastimes — shopping. Whether it was a bustling department store or a neighborhood yard sale, she had an eye for treasures and a joy for the hunt. She also loved relaxing in front of the television, watching Christian programs, cheering on her beloved UK Wildcats, or keeping up with the latest season of American Idol.

Nadine’s faith-filled spirit, lively sense of humor, and generous heart touched everyone who knew her. She will be remembered for her tireless prayers, her boundless love for God, and the joy she spread everywhere she went.

Nadine is preceded in death by her husband, Richard Daugherty; parents, Hobert C. Embry and Dora A. Frank Embry; 5 siblings, Pearl Penner, Pauline Morgan, Beulah Johnson, Lorene Frazier, and Everett Embry.

Left to cherish her memory, Nadine is survived by her sons, Bill Klinglesmith (Tammy) and Brian Daugherty; 5 grandchildren, Janna Walker (Will), Billy Klinglesmith (Lydia), Wesley Klinglesmith, Amanda Bianchi (Ryan), Steven Wozadlo (Marcee); 7 great-grandchildren, Lliam Klinglesmith, Ethan Leksrisawat, Isaac Leksrisawat, Bailey Wozadlo, Kai Wozadlo, Asher Bianchi, and Levi Bianchi; 1 brother, Kenny Embry (Faye); and a host of extended family and close friends.
