Sharon Lee Sears, age 76, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2025. She was born on April 17, 1948, in Two Rivers, Wisconsin, to the late Chester and Iva Kouba. Sharon was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, whose kindness and generosity touched the lives of everyone who knew her.
Sharon dedicated herself to her family and community, becoming a cherished figure in the lives of many. For 35 years, Sharon worked as a school bus driver for Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS), where she was adored by all of her riders. She had a special place in her heart for the special need children she transported. Her warm smile, caring nature, and selfless dedication made her a beloved figure among her riders.
Sharon’s generosity knew no bounds. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to family, friends, or anyone in need. Whether it was offering a place to stay, preparing a warm meal, or simply offering a listening ear, Sharon was there for those who needed her. She opened her home and heart to countless individuals, hosting large sleepovers for children and making her home feel like a summer camp full of joy, laughter, and comfort. She often served her famous chili during these gatherings, which became a highlight of the evenings.
In her free time, Sharon found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved going on Caribbean cruises, where she could relax and soak in the beauty of the world around her. Sharon’s love for life was reflected in her passion for gardening, particularly tending to her rose bushes and tomato plants, which brought her great happiness. She also enjoyed playing bingo when she could and loved spending time listening to her favorite oldie’s music from the '60s, '70s, and '80s. Sharon had a particular fondness for cooking and baking shows, which she watched with delight.
Sharon was known for her collection of angels, which adorned her home as a reminder of her gentle spirit and unwavering faith. She was a woman who believed in the power of kindness and found joy in bringing happiness to others.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 25+ years, Duane “Butch” Sears; daughter, Mary Jane Kriescher; and her parents, Chester and Iva Dahm Kouba.
