Virgil Bay Craig Jr., 62, passed away on Saturday, February 7, 2025, at his home in Louisville, Kentucky. Born on March 4, 1962, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Virgil and Diana Craig Sr., Virgil was a man of simple pleasures and deep connections.
Virgil was a Veteran of the United States Air Force, where he served 2 tours in Desert Storm. After serving his country, he worked as a concrete mason and sports memorabilia merchadiser. He was always known for his dedication, hard work, and easy-going nature. He lived life with a relaxed attitude, always able to find joy in the little things.
Virgil's love of sports was something he shared with family and friends, always ready to cheer on his favorite teams. In his free time, he could often be found watching games or spending time with his family and friends.
Though he lived a simple life, Virgil’s presence was a gift to all who knew him. His laid-back personality, kindness, and steady companionship will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and loved ones. He will be remembered fondly for his warmth, his sense of humor, and his easy-going nature.
May his soul rest in peace, and may we always carry his memory in our hearts.
Virgil is preceded in death by his parents, Virgil Bay Craig Sr., and Diana McKenzie Craig; and 2 brothers, Brian Craig, and Jeffrey Craig.
Left to cherish his memory, Virgil is survived by his son, Adam Craig; many cousins; and a host of extended family and close friends.
A Celebration of Life Gathering for Mr. Virgil Bay Craig Jr. will be held on Thursday, February 13, 2025, from 12 PM to 1 PM at Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Home West, 4400 Dixie Highway, Louisville, Kentucky. A funeral service will be held at 1 PM.
