Hicks, Sarah Elizabeth View/Sign Guest Book HICKS, SARAH ELIZABETH, 10, of Louisville, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 15, 2008, when she was escorted home, by angels, to her heavenly Father. She was a 4th grader at Saint Rita Catholic School where she played volleyball, basketball and softball. She was a member of the Girl Scouts Troop #710 and the Saint Rita Youth Choir, where she also served as an altar girl. Sarah was preceded in death by her grandparents, Juanita Kuckenbrod Perry, Gerald Briggs Norris and John Peak Hicks; and sibling, Baby Hicks, who passed away on December 13, 2007. She is survived by her loving parents, Tracy and Alan "Dean" Hicks; Jenna Marie and Lora Grace, to whom she was the best big sissy; grandmother, Betty Jo Hicks, of Bardstown, KY; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and millions of close friends. Funeral Mass will be held noon Saturday at Saint Rita Catholic Church, 8709 Preston Highway, 40219. Sarah will be laid to rest after Mass in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be held 5-9 p.m. Thursday and 1-9 p.m. Friday at Ratterman & Sons Funeral Home, 3800 Bardstown Road. Memorial gifts may be made to Saint Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105 or to the Saint Rita Scholarship Fund in Memory of Sarah, c/o of Ratterman & Sons Funeral Home.
