Senda Ann McGee

Senda Ann McGee, a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2026, in Louisville, Kentucky. Born on August 1, 1939, in Bowling Green, Kentucky, to Harry and Audrea McDaniel, Senda lived a life filled with love, compassion, laughter, and a deep devotion to caring for others.

Senda dedicated much of her life to nursing, earning her Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) credentials. Caring for others was more than a profession to her; it was simply who she was. She had a natural gift for making people feel cared for and understood, and she was always willing to lend a helping hand. That same compassion extended to her own family. Whenever her mother or siblings needed her, Senda was there. She shared a particularly special bond with her mother, and the two spent much of their time together, creating memories that she treasured dearly.

Family was at the heart of Senda's life. She loved bringing everyone together, whether for Christmas and Thanksgiving meals, summer cookouts, or afternoons spent swimming and enjoying one another's company. Having her family gathered around her brought her great happiness. Those moments of sharing food, laughter, stories, and time together were among the things she cherished most.

Senda also shared a wonderful love of adventure with her husband, Dale. Together, they enjoyed camping and traveling, beginning with tent camping before eventually upgrading to a motor home that allowed them to explore many places together. Their travels brought them countless experiences and special memories, reflecting the life they built side by side.

Senda took pride in looking her best whenever she went out. She cared about her appearance and always enjoyed presenting herself beautifully. She was, without a doubt, a beautiful woman, both in appearance and in spirit.

When enjoying quiet time at home, Senda could often be found working on crossword puzzles or putting together jigsaw puzzles. She enjoyed watching television, especially Chrisley Knows Best, Doc Martin, and Family Feud. In her later years, she also became an enthusiastic fan of University of Louisville Cardinals basketball, adding another joy to her days.

Senda had a special way of making people feel supported and cared for. Her love was shown not only through her words but through the countless ways she gave of herself to others. She was the person who showed up, who listened, who helped, and who stood beside the people she loved. Her presence was a blessing to her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Senda is preceded in death by her loving husband of 25 years, Dale Howard McGee; grandson, Spencer Elswick; parents, Harry Hughes McDaniel Jr. and Audrea Pauline Cohron McDaniel; siblings, Carolyn McDaniel, Wanda McDaniel Cady, and Nathan McDaniel.

Left to cherish her memory, Senda is survived by her children, Eric McGee (Donna) and LaNita Jo Singleton (John); grandchildren, Matthew Singleton (Lori), Mark Singleton (Kendra), and Jared Elswick (Brooke); great-grandchildren, Adrian Harrison, Justyss Trowell, Jonathan Singleton, Keziah Singleton, Charles Singleton, Sydney Covert, and Teagan Covert; step-great-grandchildren, Brandy Goss, Megan Brooks, Doug Brimor II; brother-in-law, John Cady; nephews, Jason Cady and Joshua Cady (Tina); cousin, Suzanne Smith; and a host of extended family and close friends.

A funeral service will be held for Mrs. Senda A. McGee at 6:00 PM, on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, at Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Home West, 4400 Dixie Highway, Louisville, Kentucky. Visitation will be held prior to the funeral service from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the funeral home.
