Sharon Kaye Boone, 74, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 29, 2026, in Louisville, Kentucky.

Born on December 6, 1951, in Dayton, Ohio, Sharon lived a life filled with love, laughter, and devotion to her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend whose warmth and outgoing personality touched the lives of all who knew her.

Family was the center of Sharon’s world. She cherished every opportunity to gather with loved ones, especially during the holidays. Christmas was a particularly special time for her, and she delighted in the large family celebrations and the cherished tradition of making Christmas cookies together each year. The memories created around her table will be treasured forever.

Sharon had a vibrant spirit and an adventurous nature. She enjoyed traveling out west and loved finding as many casinos as possible along the way. Whether taking a trip or simply spending time with family, she embraced life with enthusiasm and joy. In her spare time, she enjoyed visiting the boat to try her luck at the slot machines, cheering on the Washington Redskins, and listening to the music of Elvis Presley.

Later in life, Sharon found happiness in the simple pleasures of home. She enjoyed planting flowers, tending to her garden, and relaxing while watching the Game Show Network. Her home was a place of comfort, love, and countless treasured memories.

Sharon will be remembered for her kind heart, her love of family, her sense of fun, and the joy she brought to those around her. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her, but her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever.

Sharon is preceded in death by 2 husbands, Mickey Hodnett and Butch Boone; son-in-law, Jay Nichols; and her parents, Homer Cole and Wanda Kaye Cole.

Left to cherish her memory, Sharon is survived by her children, Nancy Kay (Raymond), Dana Nichols, Sarah Deaton (Eric), and Samantha Bosse (Kyle); siblings, Steve Cole (Karen), Greg Shoemake (Shelia), and Andy Cole (Tracy); grandchildren, Grayce, Julia, Sam, and Elizabeth; many nieces/nephews; and a host of extended family and close friends.
