EVANS, WILLIAM J. "RED," 81, passed away Sunday, May 9, 2010 at Baptist Hospital East.
He was a retired pressman for Standard Gravure.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elnora Evans; nephew, Dennis Mason; and niece, Nancy Harms.
He is survived by his sisters, Ruth Hunter, Vera Mason, Jeanette Evans; brother, Chester Evans (Doris); nieces and nephews, Sandra Kuerzi, Judy Elmore (Dennis), Keith Mason (Barbara), Michael Evans (Gail), Steve Evans (Mary), Bruce Evans (Shirley) and Gary Hunter (Christine) and their children and grandchildren; stepson, Elmer Gore, and his wife, Joy, who devotedly cared for him over two years in their home, and their children and grandchildren; stepdaughters, Barbara Koontz (James) and Carol Bothwell, and all of their children and grandchildren; stepnephew, Walter Smith (Joyce); stepnieces, Mary Ann Thompson-Roseman (Barry), Connie Scott (Murray) and Emma Kunker; and his wife's extended family. He was loved by all and will be greatly missed.
His funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, May 13, 2010 at J.B. Ratterman & Sons-Grand Chapels, 4832 Cane Run Road, with entombment at Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 12, 2010.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to the March of Dimes.
