Willie Elmer Dewitt

Willie Elmer DeWitt, 56, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 18, 2026, after a courageous battle with leukemia.

Born April 2, 1970, in Louisville, Kentucky, Willie was the son of Gary and Elsie Maria DeWitt. He was a hard-working free spirit who lived life on his own terms and brought warmth and character to those around him.

Willie enjoyed riding his motorcycle, fishing, and spending time grilling with family and friends. He will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, hardworking nature, and the memories he created with those who loved him.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Willie is preceded in death by his parents, Gary L. DeWitt Sr. and Elsie Maria Smith Hill; and his brother, Gary Lee DeWitt Jr.

Left to cherish his memory, Willie is survived by many cousins.

Private burial at Louisville Memorial Gardens West has been chosen by the family.
