HICKS, WILMER G. "WIMP," 75, of Eminence, native of Westport, passed away Saturday, October 11, 2008. He was a retired die maker of 42 years, for the Henry Vogt Machine Comany, a member of the Westport United Methodist Church, and cofounder and chief of Westport Volunteer Fire Department. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marshall and Dorothy (Cook) Hicks; and his grandparents, George V. and Jessie Mae Hicks, who raised him and his son, Donald Thomas Hicks. He is survived by his wife, Ruth (Smith) Hicks; two sons, David Hicks (Lisa), and Douglas Hicks (Beth); one daughter, Dorothy Sevcik (Bob); eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Service will be 1 p.m. Monday at the Oldham County Funeral Home, 706 W. Jefferson St. in LaGrange, with visitation 2-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hosparus of Louisville, or to his church.
